It’s the most wonderful time of the year, most of the time…

But occasionally, the joys of Christmas — from seasonal decorating to gift exchanges to family meals – can provide the perfect recipe for turning holiday cheer into hilarious mishaps.

Everyone’s got a fond (or cringeworthy) Christmas tale, and we asked members of Chimp’s staff to recount theirs.

Over the coming weeks, stay tuned as we share our stories here. You can also follow along on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, where we’ll post one video per day from December 8 to the 19th.

Sharing tales of Christmas folly seemed frivolous at first, until we realized that every story had a related charitable cause — from animal shelters to cancer research to food security. And so, in the spirit of holiday charity, we’ve offered up $1,000 charitable dollars for the most popular Christmas tale. And we need your help!

Read on to find out how to vote for your favourite stories! And remember, no matter what happens this Christmas, you can’t go wrong with charitable giving.

We Have A Winner!

Voting has closed and we have a winner! Christian Mosley’s hilarious “banana onesie” story earned him the win with 224 votes — and $1,000 to give away to his charity of choice, Prostate Cancer Canada. Congratulations!
