Giving Groups having an impact in October

If you are looking to fundraise for a cause you care about, setting up a Giving Group on CHIMP can be a great place to start. Giving Groups enable your friends, family, co-workers and social networks to join you in raising money. When we join together, we can maximize our impact!

Here are some of the Giving Groups that are making an impact on CHIMP in October:

Sarah’s Birthday Fundraiser

Instead of asking for gifts for her birthday, Sarah is asking friends and family to help her make a lasting impact to the lives of others by donating to her birthday fundraiser. Sarah’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the Africa Community Technical Service Society, to build a water tap!

Branch 303 Christmas Fundraiser

The holidays are a great time to work together to have an impact and create lasting change. This giving group is using the holidays to raise $20,000 for Sleeping Children Around the World – an organization that provides bedkits to children in underdeveloped and developing countries around the world.

TechPong:

A number of giving groups this month are fundraising for the TechPong 2018 campaign! TechPong is an annual ping-pong tournament for the Vancouver tech community. The goal this year is to raise $100,000 for charities. So far over $20,000 has been raised, and counting! Each team has chosen a charity to fundraise for, so the money will go to a number of different causes.

Give it up 4 peace:

People taking part in PeaceGeeks’ #GiveItUp4Peace campaign are using CHIMP to fundraise. The campaign challenges participants to give up something they love for the whole of October, to fundraise to help communities at risk use tech for peace. So far, $23,106 has been raised!
