The power of a goal

Goals are a powerful tool. They can challenge, inspire, and motivate us to put our best foot forward.

Our goal at Chimp is to empower people to manage and amplify their charitable impact, and we want to encourage you to consider setting a giving goal for 2014.

Why set a giving goal

Committing to a giving goal allows you to plan your charitable giving in advance so that you can be intentional about giving back in 2014.

My wife and I started setting a giving goal for ourselves when we were shocked at how little we had given away (unintentionally) to charity at the end of one tax year. While we held giving in high value and wanted to be generous people, we realized we mostly only gave when we were asked. Some years that meant we gave a lot, and other years, if we weren’t asked, meant that we didn’t give very much.

Setting a giving goal was our commitment to giving a certain amount to charity, regardless of how much we were asked. With money set aside in our Chimp account, we could then discuss what causes and charities we wanted to support.

If you haven’t thought about setting a giving goal, now’s a great time to start!

Set your 2014 giving goal today

Set a goal for how much you’d like to donate into your account for 2014 and we’ll help you along the way. You can track your progress throughout the year and feel good when you reach your goal. The best part is having money to give away to causes that are important to you when you’re inspired to do so!
