Orienteering Canada's 50th Anniversary Endowment Fund

Orienteering Canada is 50 years old. To celebrate this milestone, we are creating an endowment fund to help orienteering in Canada grow over the next 50 years. Help us celebrate Orienteering Canada's past by contributing to its future.

We have a goal to raise $50,000. This money will be the seed money to start the Orienteering Canada Endowment Fund.

We also encourage you to donate to this endowment fund in memory of Adrian Zissos.

What is an endowment fund? An endowment fund is a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding. The assets in an endowment fund are carefully invested. Each year, a portion of the value of the fund is paid out to support the fund’s purpose (in this case: Orienteering Canada), and any earnings in excess of this distribution are used to build the fund’s value. In this way, an endowment fund can grow and provide support for Orienteering Canada in perpetuity.

We have created a Q&A sheet for those of you looking for more info about the endowment fund:

How can you help with this fundraising campaign?
> Make a one-time donation right here on this page
> Consider making a monthly donation right here on this page
> Host an orienteering event and donate the proceeds to this fundraiser
> Have a fundraising event at an orienteering event (a bake sale, a donation box...)
> Create a fundraising page with your orienteering friends or your club and issue a challenge to your neighbouring club... can they beat your donations?
> Come up with our own ideas to help us reach our audacious goal of $50k for 50 years. Every dollar donated will have an impact!
