Run For Pompey

Run For Pompey works to bring support and funds to students in the Exuma Cays, Bahamas; who don't have access to full educational programs or means to pursue post-secondary studies. Thats why we Run For Pompey!

Honoring Pompey, a National Hero to The Bahamas who is considered a key precursor to the emancipation in the Bahamas, which occurred in August 1838; Run For Pompey works to bring support and funds to students in the community who don't have access to full educational programs or means to pursue post-secondary studies through the Pompey Scholarship. In addition to the scholarship program, the Run For Pompey Fund works towards providing better educational materials and facilities for the whole community.

The best way to help the Run for Pompey is to attend one of the races and #BeAHero! Not only will you help youth and education on Exuma, you will uplift an entire community! For those who cannot join us in our run, even a small donation of $10 can make a big difference in the lives of the next recipients of the Pompey Scholarship, awarded on June 21st each year so students can peruse their dreams of post secondary education and ultimately give back to the community.

Canadians, Todd and Taylor have been joined by Frankie Ruiz, the co-founder of the Miami Marathon and running guru of Florida, in a quest to create a meaningful event with a goal of promoting community spirit, healthy physical activity as well as raising funds for the Pompey Scholarship.
