The mission of the Alberta Emerald Foundation is to recognize and celebrateenvironmental excellence in Alberta. The Foundation accomplishes this by organizaing the Emerald Awards annually which honours nominated,selected Award finalists who successfully meet the Foundation's objectives information about finalists and recipients is showcased through social media,earned media partnerships and the AEF website throughout the year.Additionally,the Foundation organizes Emerald Day community events each year,showcasing local environmental achievements.As well,the Foundation administers the Youth Environmental Engagement Grant program,providing micro-grants of up to $400 to schools,classrooms and clubs who are implementing environmental initiatives
