1) The LakeWatch Program is a lake water quality monitoring program which has monitored over 100 unique lakes throughout Alberta. In 2016, this program continued with the help of over 80 volunteers and 570 volunteer hours. These efforts allowed us to sample 32 lakes across the province. Volunteers provide transportation on the lake, assistance with collecting samples, and assistance recording data. 2) In 2016, ALMS continued to provide Alberta Water Quality Test Kits to stewards across the province. ALMS also finalized their Guide to Aquatic Plants of Alberta document available at www.alms.ca. Using this document, ALMS participated in an aquatic plant bioblitz with stewards at Lacombe Lake. 3) Workshop: In 2016, ALMS hosted the North American Lake Management Society conference which saw over 700 attendees attend Banff for five days of field tours, workshops, and presentations. 4) Lake Management Framework: Using a guide published on our website, ALMS has been working with lake stewardship groups to help guide them through the process of developing lake watershed management plans.
