Alternatives Inc. promotes the critical understanding and informed analysis of environmental concerns and issues. Founded to provide a platform for informed and intelligent debate, Alternatives Inc. continues to serve that role via the publishing of Alternatives Journal, the 'voice of Canada's environmental community'. Available in magazine format (print/digital) and online, Alternatives Journal works with community partners, leading educators and academics, and influential thought-leaders to expand awareness of critical environmental issues, problems and potential solutions. We serve as a much-needed media hub for Canada's environmental community, providing story-telling capacity and skills to shine a well-deserved spotlight on grassroots groups and mainstream organizations actively working to foster a healthier and mores sustainable future. We support the 120+ colleges and universities across Canada training the 200,000+ young Canadians enrolled in the environmental programs and courses offered on campuses from coast-to-coast. In that capacity, we provide a vitally-needed publishing platform for new research and insights emanating from the lecture halls and laboratories, we empower and encourage expanded student opportunities, and we help to build the infrastructure for environmental journalism in Canada.
