As a public art museum, the AGO's mission is to bring art and people together. The AGO has a collection of more than 80,000 works which it protects and preserves for current and future generations. We have 4,000 works from our collection on constant public display. We also present an active program of temporary exhibitions. A wide range of education programs was also offered for school groups, children, youth, adults and families. The AGO has an ongoing commitment to reduce barriers preventing the public from visiting. For more than 30 years it has offered free general admission every Wednesday evening. Secondary students can visit free of charge weekdays after school. The AGO also partners with community organizations throughout the GTA to enable financially and socially challenged groups to enjoy our collections free of charge through our Neighbourhood Access Program and AGO Community Membership program. The AGO is founding partner of Toronto Public Library's "Museum and Arts Pass" program and Canadian Citizenship "Cultural Access Pass".
