Calgary Seniors' Resource Society is governed by a Board of Directors and carries out its objectives with a staff of 22 along with a large complement of volunteers. In addition to Outreach Services, which consists of home assessments, long and short term support and case management, and assistance with financial, housing and daily living needs by registered social workers, volunteer services and programming is provided. These programs include: Friendly Visiting, Telephone Reassurance, Assisted Shopping, Escorted Transportation and Pet Assist. SeniorConnect is a community educational and engagement program. It not only educates groups and individuals on seniors' vulnerability and risk factors including elder abuse but, in partnership with Distress Centre Calgary, provides a Seniors' Help Line that runs 24/7 with follow-up by SeniorConnect social workers who assess the seniors' situations and needs same day or next, and connects them to resources and support. This is semi-urgent care and is now offered afterhours (evenings and weekends) to ensure seniors are getting support - when they need it - to avoidcrises or emergency.
