Kitimat Marine Rescue Society (KMRS) provides financial, logistic & administrative spport for Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Stations 63, Kitimat, similar to other RCM-SAR station support societies in British Columbia. It is directly tied to Kitimat Sation 63, which provides 24/7 years round local area marine search & rescue service, assists in marine medical evacuations, assists in managing environmental incidents, operates and maintain search & rescue vessels and a fully equipped boathouse station, conducts restricted radio operators certification courses, trains members in first aid, marine search & rescue, vessel operation, marine radio operation, provides safety coverage for marine events, makes available free safe boating education & literature to the public, and free loaner PFDs for children.
