Education and information on conservation issues including habitat preservation, inter-tidal ecology, climate change for residents of and visitors to Mayne Island and K to 8 classes attending Mayne School. Removal of invasive plant species from parks, road verges and other public lands and the promotion/propagation of native plants and restoration activities associated with a nascent Garry Oak ecology within the Henderson Hill Community Park. Mapping of Eelgrass & Kelp beds and the definition of Pacific Sand Lance range breeding areas/egg surveys, monitoring of populations in the Active Pass Important Bird Area. Promotion of individual conservation action through property "walkabouts," workshops and expert presentations. Promotion and expansion of our Native Plant Nursery
