Welcome to the official Women's National Team fundraising page.
The Canadian Women’s National Field Hockey Team (WNT) is comprised of exceptional young athletes, poised to become top competitors on the world stage.
Our team has gone through a transformation this year after FHC hired head coach Giles Bonnet in January of 2018. Under his leadership, our team has changed the way we train and play and as a result, we have seen an increase in success and are hungry to continue achieving landmark results as we have in the last year. We have lofty goals of becoming the first Canadian Women’s Field Hockey Team in the Olympics since Barcelona in 1992 and qualify for Tokyo 2020.
The next six months is crucial to the team's continued development and ability to remain on track and within reach of a ticket to the Tokyo Olympics games in 2020. We have seen a dramatic difference in our success due to an influx in the amount of training and playing and we need financial support to continue this rigorous program.
We have seen how important it is to gain collective game experience and need your help to ensure we can travel, train and compete as we continue on our trek to Tokyo. Your financial support will go directly to enhancing an elite high performance program. The athletes will benefit directly from you support and all investments will be used for funding training, travel, and international competition and tournament hosting.
Your support will help make dreams come true. It will allow our team to continue on our pathway of success and give us every opportunity to achieve our goals. Join the movement of a talented team of female leaders worth of investment and praise, and help launch the Canadian Women’s National Field Hockey Team into a world of possibility.
If you're interested in joining the WNT Business Club for greater access to the team and other exclusive opportunities send us a message and we can provide you with further information.
About the Organizers
Who is the Canadian Women’s National Team (WNT)?
We call ourselves the Wolf Pack because we are always hunting. Things have never come easy to us and we have learned the importance of hard work, dedication and commitment. We lean on each other for support and live by the slogan, "The strength is in the pack."
We take great pride in representing our country on and off the field. On the field, we are known for our 100% effort, our never give up mentality, our grit and fight. Off the field, we are a group of caring, respectful, and intelligent female athletes. We are honoured to be recognized as mentors and role models in the community.
Our team values are to be: Proud, Courageous, United and Relentless. We try to live these values in everything we do and keep our ourselves accountable by showing specific actions and behaviours associated with these words both on and off the field.
The WNT has shown great commitment to a program that is finally seeing success. The WNT are currently centralized abroad in Belgium and when at home, in Victoria, BC, Canada at the CARSA Centre. Our home field is situated at the University of Victoria and moving the program to Vancouver Island allowed the WNT to be a part of a unique and groundbreaking relationship between a Canadian University and a National Sport Organization. The team can now capitalize on our athleticism while training in a world-class setting.
For the months of Sept-Nov 2018 and Feb-April 2019 a majority of the WNT is centralized and plays in the club league in Belgium and The Netherlands. Each player dropped everything at home in order to move across the world, train together and play high level games in the European club system. The WNT is split up between 7 clubs in Belgium and 2 in Amsterdam. As a Canadian team, we travel to and train at Victory Hockey Club.
