Fort McMurray Wildfire Response

The forest fires are under control and rebuilding is already underway in Fort Mac because people like you care. Evacuated families are returning and showing the resilience Canadians are known for. Ongoing support for rebuilding is being provided by the Canadian Red Cross.

Facts On the Ground:
- 88,000 people were successfully evacuated from the Fort McMurray townsite.
- The wildfire burned over 100,000 hectares and destroyed 1,600 buildings.
- This is the largest fire-related evacuation ever in Alberta.
