The Group's Purpose

To honor and support the legacy of William Vince (Bill) who believed in the potential of youth and the power of helping others help themselves.

In 2006 Bill founded Intersections Media, a youth at risk film digital media program, in the Downtown East side of Vancouver, the home of Bill’s production company, Infinity Features.
In a short but prolific career, Bill produced 37 internationally acclaimed feature films including the 2006 Oscar nominated film “Capote”. Bill touched thousands of lives with his generous nature over his 20-year career. In 2008, at the age of 44, Bill lost a battle with cancer.

As a person who loved turning dreams into reality, Bill helped a multitude of people in the film industry realize their dreams. In 2009 his sister Lyn established Intersections Media Opportunities for Youth Society a non- profit charitable organization delivering the Intersections Digital Media Workshop, A BladeRunners Program for youth facing multiple barriers to employment.

Through the unique and familiar medium of art and digital filmmaking as well as involvement in group-based projects, Intersections participants gain the experience and confidence for long-term attachment to the workforce. Starting with 6 participants in 2009, Intersections now delivers to 64 participants per year with a success rate of 83% of our youth becoming employed or moving to a higher level of education.

Intersections is producing the next generation of creative talent by addressing barriers to employment and mentoring young people to become successful contributors to society.
